About 23 years ago I started FurstPerson with the goal of helping companies improve their ability to hire more accurately. In my first job after graduate school, I had the opportunity to see how a broken hiring process costs the business in both turnover and performance. The goal with FurstPerson was to help companies solve this problem.
When we first started the company, job candidates could not test from home. A candidate had to visit the hiring company’s office to take the assessment. In fact, most internet connections back then were dial-up. Fast forward 20 years - the innovation across multiple industries that now allows a job candidate to complete the assessment process in minutes via their mobile phone is amazing. We are proud to be part of this journey to improve the candidate experience, leverage technology in the hiring process, and develop innovative assessment products.
Over the last 23 years, our team at FurstPerson has focused on helping companies create a data-driven hiring process to better answer the question of candidate job fit. By linking our hiring tools to turnover and performance data, we can help our customers quantify the hiring decision and improve quality of hire.
Our team at FurstPerson has always focused on providing our customers with the best products and services. From our pioneering work with contact center simulations to our recent work with interactive analytics dashboards, we have focused on products that provide better hiring insight for our customers.
Today we are excited to officially announce that FurstPerson has joined with OutMatch, a leader in digital-hiring. Greg Moran, CEO at OutMatch, and I have been discussing combining our companies together for many years. Joining forces with OutMatch will allow us to bring even more capabilities to our customers and provide OutMatch customers with assessment products like our interactive simulations.
With the acquisition by OutMatch, FurstPerson will now have additional capabilities:
- OutMatch recently acquired LaunchPad which provides a Talent Decisions Management Platform. FurstPerson’s focus for the last 20+ years has been on customers that hire frontline employees that interact with end customers in a service, sales, or support role. Typically, our customers have high-volume hiring needs. The Talent Decision Management Platform provides leading automation capabilities which will benefit our customers and improve the candidate experience.
- OutMatch also has a leading video interviewing platform. Video interviewing was already becoming more important to talent acquisition leaders. The impact of Covid-19 on hiring and the work environment only accelerates this.
- Hiring for culture fit has also been a growing need within the FurstPerson customer base. OutMatch has an excellent new product that creates a gamified culture match assessment.
Over the last 23 years, we’ve had a lot of support. This support starts with our customers. We have been privileged to work with many great companies and people over the years. We look forward to continuing to work with our customers going forward. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with many great teammates here. These individuals helped us build our products, service our customers, and provide support to each other. As the FurstPerson team becomes part of OutMatch, I am excited to see the innovative products we can build as part of a larger company focused on bringing innovation, driven by simpler and smarter tools and approaches, to the talent acquisition industry.
